Selecting controls

Two selection shortcuts, both on AM_Rig controls. Both add to your selection rather than replacing it, so you can build a selection up across several flicks.

Select child controls (↓)

Selects every control below the one you are on — the fingers of a hand, the chain of a tail, the whole spine above the hips. It appears when the control has child controls.

It follows the rig's control hierarchy (Maya's controller tags), not the Outliner's parenting, so it selects what an animator thinks of as "below" even when the transforms are organised differently.

Select all controls (↙)

Selects every control of the rig. It appears when the rig has a controllers set — an object set marked with an is_controllers_set attribute, which AM_Rig creates — so it is exactly the rig's own list of animatable controls, nothing from the geometry or the skeleton.

Useful for keying a whole pose, resetting a character, or checking what is keyed.

Everything below, reset

Selecting children is often a step towards resetting them. Reset ▶ Reset all below does both in one flick — see Reset.
