Plug-ins

AM Rig Menu ships compiled Maya plug-ins beside the menu. Every one is optional: the installer gives each its own check box, and the menu works without any of them.

Plug-in What it is for Builds
weightDriver Pose-space driver (RBF and vector angle) for corrective shapes. Any rig with weightDriver nodes needs it to evaluate. Windows: Maya 2020, 2022–2027 · macOS and Linux: Maya 2020, 2022–2025

Where they go

A plug-in is built once per Maya version, and one AM_Tools module serves every Maya on the machine. So every build of a chosen plug-in is installed, each in its own folder:

AM_Tools/plug-ins/<platform>/<Maya version>/weightDriver.mll

How they load

When Maya starts, AM Rig Menu adds this Maya's folder to MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH and loads every plug-in in it — by full path, so the build it ships is the one that loads, not another copy that happens to be first on the path.

A plug-in that is already loaded, from another tool, is left alone.

Scenes that require a plug-in find it by name from then on, because its folder is on the plug-in path.

Changing your choice

Run the installer again with the boxes set the way you want. A plug-in you untick is removed. If Maya has it loaded at the time, Windows keeps the file locked: the installer says so, and a reinstall after restarting Maya finishes the job.
