AM Rig Menu checks for new versions on movahhedi.com — the same update service every AM tool uses.

Automatic checks

Once a day, in the background, a few seconds after Maya starts. It never slows Maya down and never blocks it: the check runs off the main thread, and without a connection it simply says nothing.

A window only opens when there is a release you have not already dismissed.

The update window

Shelf button → Check for Updates checks straight away:

The update window: Update available, installed 0.2.3, latest 0.3.0 released on 28 September 2026, a Download button, and What's new with the release highlights and changelog. Check automatically, Skip this version, Remind me later and Close along the bottom.

  • What's new lists the highlights and the changes of every release since yours, not only the newest — so jumping from 0.2 to 0.4 shows what 0.3 added too.
  • Download opens the download page.
  • Skip this version stops reminding you about this one release. A newer one still will. A release marked as critical is shown regardless.
  • Remind me later asks again tomorrow.
  • Check automatically switches the daily check on or off.

Privacy

A check sends the tool name, its version, its update channel, the Maya version, the platform and a random installation id — no name, email, path or anything about your scenes.
