Activate your licence

Your licence is a small file — .lic — with your name and email signed into it. Import it once and every tool unlocks. It is checked on your own PC: no account to sign in to, no activation server.

Where the file comes from

When you buy Am_sketch, an email titled "Your Am_sketch license is ready" arrives with the licence file attached (its name starts with am_sketch_ and ends in .lic). Save the attachment somewhere you will find it — the Downloads folder is fine.

Import it

1. Open the Help window: click the ? slot on the ring, or right-click the Am_sketch tray icon → Help. In trial mode it opens by itself.
2. Choose Licensing in the list on the left.
3. Press Import license... and pick your .lic file.
4. License activated — "Your license is valid and was successfully imported." Every slot of the ring is now live.

The page then reads Status: Active license loaded., and License details shows the name and email the licence was issued to. The button becomes Replace license... in case you ever need to import a newer file.

Double-clicking a .lic file does nothing

Windows does not know what to do with the file on its own. Always import it from Help → Licensing.

Am_sketch copies the file to Documents\Am_sketch\license\active.lic and reads that copy from then on; the file you picked is left where it was.

Without a licence

Until a licence is imported Am_sketch runs in trial mode:

• only the Help and Close slots of the ring respond; the others are dimmed,
• the colour ring and the properties panels are locked,
• nothing is drawn, and the overlay stays in pass-through mode,
• the Preferences slot opens Help → Licensing instead.

A hint in the corner says so: "Am_sketch is running in trial mode — Open Help → Licensing and import your .lic file to unlock all tools."

On another PC

The licence belongs to you, not to a machine. To use Am_sketch on your laptop as well as your desktop, install it there and import the same file. Nothing has to be deactivated on the old computer when you move to a new one.

Lost the file?

Sign in on movahhedi.com with the email address you bought with, open My Licenses, and download it again (it arrives as Am_sketch.lic). If you never set a password for that account, use the set your password email you received with your purchase, or Lost your password? on the sign-in page.

If the import fails

Message	What it means
The selected file is not a valid Am_sketch license.	The file is not a licence, or it has been changed. The name and email in it are signed — editing them breaks it. Download it again from My Licenses.
The license file could not be decoded.	The file is damaged — usually a partial download. Download it again.
The selected license file does not exist.	The file was moved or deleted after you picked it.
Could not save the imported license file.	Am_sketch could not write to Documents\Am_sketch\license. Check that the Documents folder exists and is not read-only (or full, if it syncs to OneDrive).
