Getting started¶
Watch it, install it, build something small end to end, and learn what you are looking at.
-
Two videos, twelve minutes, every shortcut on screen as it is used. The fastest way in — and every chapter links back to the page that explains it.
-
Drag one file into Maya. What it writes, where it goes, and how to install by hand if your studio does not allow installers.
-
Seven steps from an empty canvas to a saved picker that selects controls. Twenty minutes, and you will have used most of the tool.
-
Every part of the window named, so the rest of the documentation can point at things without describing them again.
The one-paragraph version¶
Install it, open it on a rig, and press Alt+W to get into Edit mode. Make a data node with Ctrl+N so the picker has somewhere to live. Hold A and drag to draw a shape. Select a control in Maya, select your shape, press U to bind them. Press Ctrl+S to save. Press Alt+W to go back to Anim mode and click the shape — the control is selected in Maya. Everything else in this documentation is detail on top of that loop.
