The three things it usually is¶
Nothing selects. The namespace. Right-click → Set Namespace, use the eyedropper on a control, and read the "n of n objects found" line. More
A key does nothing. The picker does not have keyboard focus, or you are in the wrong mode. Click the picker canvas once and check the bottom-right corner says the mode you expect.
A tool is missing from the Window menu. You are in Anim mode. Press Alt+W.
Reporting something¶
If you have found a real bug, the useful report includes:
- your Maya version and operating system
- the Am_Picker version — Help → About
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- anything printed in the Script Editor at the time
The Script Editor output matters more than anything else in the list. Am_Picker prints real tracebacks there rather than swallowing errors, so whatever went wrong usually says so.
